Winschoten Station has been renovated and brought back to its original 1904 state. This has improved the general appeal of the area. In addition, this station shall offer several new features which will benefit travellers, local residents as well as the direct environment of Winschoten Station. The station has, for example, gained a coffee corner in the waiting area as well as a meeting room and a public lavatory.
The restored station building of the city Winschoten was inaugurated on 9 October 2015 and thus returned to Het Oude Ambt, the welfare foundation that manages the building. In addition to the already completed facilities, an information desk and bike repair shop shall be added to the building as well. It shall also accommodate the bus drivers of the Qbuzz bus company.
